Get to know JahVibe

Swedish reggae singer JahVibe fell in love with reggae and Jamaican culture in an early age after playing his parents reggae vinyls to destruction. Son of a former brass player, music has always been a big part of his life. In the age of twenty he decided to travel to Jamaica after preforming in Sweden and after some recording sessions in London England. ¨I wanted to experience the culture, the music and feeling the spirituality. Also see and grasp the surroundings where my favorite reggae artist sung and lived¨. After arriving on the island, with no connections no idea where to go only his luggage and plane ticket at hand, he started to explore the island. Since then he has continued to travel to the island preformed with artist like King Yellowman, Elephantman and Lee Scratch Perry, collaborating with reggae root’s artists like Warrior King, Luciano , Anthony B and Jah Mason.

He sings and deejays in Jamaican patios and English, a style he picked up spending time on the island and from his favorite records. ¨I listen allot to Jamaican reggae from newer artist like Capleton, Luciano and I Wayne to legendary artists like Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and Alton Ellis to name a few. ¨It didn't take long before I started to write verses in that style and experimenting with words¨ JahVibe says laughing.
